Happy National Chocolate Day + Almond Butter Chocolate Sauce

I know you're trying to get back to the real world after celebrating the Fourth of July, but you must keep the party going! It's National Chocolate Day!

Chocolate is definitely my fave sweet treat - chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate ice cream. Mmmmmm. I could eat chocolate every day.

But sadly, I can't sustain myself on chocolatey desserts. So when I'm craving chocolate, I make this amazing, healthier chocolate sauce.

I love this chocolate sauce so much! I drizzle it over strawberries and blueberries or dip apple slices in it. It's also great over banana slices. This recipe is also amazing because you get the health benefits of almond butter!

I've actually made it two ways. One is healthier than the other, but they are both healthier alternatives to store-bought chocolate sauce.

Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Sauce

1 spoonful almond butter

1 tbsp. dark chocolate chips

Combine ingredients in a bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds. Stir. Microwave for another 20 seconds.

1 spoonful almond butter

1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder

2-3 tsp. honey

Combine ingredients in a bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds or until sauce because runny.
