Sometimes I don't realize how unhealthy I've eaten over the weekend until I write my Weekend Recap. Frozen yogurt, nachos, pizza, beer, candy corn, cupcakes. Yeah, this weekend definitely didn't win me the healthiest health blogger of the year award.

But my weekend was also mixed with some healthy activities - a massage, Piloxing and yoga. Pizza + yoga = balance ????

Here's how the weekend went...

Friday, Oct. 24 - After I got off work, the BF and I made a quick trip to Hastings so he could mow the lawn of his old house and so that I could get a massage. I got a gift card to Avani Day Spa, so I made an appointment with my fave massage therapist, Chelsea.

The spa just started using Aveda products and Chelsea used Chakra 2 essential oil. I had to pick three cards that had words like nourished, energized, grounded, etc. Then she used the cards I picked to choose the essential oil. Chakra 2 is the center of vitality and sensation - the pleasure chakra. The massage was absolutely amazing. Chelsea paid special attention to the knots on my back, which I get from sitting at my desk all day.

After my massage, I treated myself to an iced coffee with almond milk at a new coffee shop in downtown Hastings, then the BF and I had a late lunch at a local Greek place. I had a Greek chicken salad. Then we drove back to Kearney.

Since we had a late lunch, we weren't hungry for dinner. So we went out for froyo! I can't resist the cookie dough bites!

Saturday, Oct. 25 - The BF had to get up at 3:30 a.m. for his weekend job. After his alarm went off, I couldn't fall back asleep! I finally got out of bed at 4:30 a.m. and cuddled up on the couch to watch the movie Barefoot (which was just OK), followed by some shows on Hulu. I also made breakfast around 5 a.m.

I had oatmeal with goji berries and blueberries.

Around 7:30 a.m., when the sun came up, I finally got off the couch and did laundry and took the dog for a walk. I was hungry again around 9 a.m., so I made two eggs that I ate over leftover fried potatoes - second breakfast.

I then walked to K-Town Shakedown fitness studio to teach Piloxing! It was a great class, and it felt so good to work up a sweat. I also loved my matchy matchy yoga mat - pedicure - workout leggings combo.

My endorphins were flowing when I got home, so I did dishes, did more laundry, cleaned the house and showered. I also threw together the BF's famous healthy(ish) nachos for lunch (but I used leftover ground taco meat instead of chicken).

Our friends from Hastings, Carmen and Clark, came over that evening to see our new house. My parents came over to check out Clarks VW bug, then we walked to my parents house so Clark could see my dad's VW bug. It was pretty cute.

Carmen, Clark, the BF and I then went to Thunderhead Brewery for beer and pizza. The BF and I shared a spinach chicken alfredo pizza. I had the Grand Cru beer.

Sunday, Oct. 26 - Even though I was in bed my 10 p.m. and only had two PBRs and one microbrew beer, I woke up with a massive hangover headache. I laid on the couch all morning. The BF made me an egg and turkey bacon sandwich. I drank water with a NUUN tablet. I drank coffee. I took pain reliever. I ate a bowl of cereal. I put an ice pack on my head. I watched a bad movie. I ate leftover pizza.

I think I felt so terrible because I got so little sleep Friday night and then was on the go all day Saturday. I'm also a total lightweight.

I finally got myself together and walked to the First United Methodist Church for the Kearney Literacy Council's annual Scrabble Tournament!

I'm on the Kearney Literacy Council board and my girls, Russanne and Betsy, and I always participate in the tournament. Last year, we won first place in the recreational league!

We didn't win this year, but we had a lot of fun. I also enjoyed the snacks - I had peanuts and candy corn, peanut butter chocolate bars and cheddar popcorn in between Scrabble games.

When I got home, I did Detox Twist Vinyasa Flow Yoga on Grokker.com. I definitely needed the detox! Grokker is a great website that has tons of free workout videos and cooking videos.

The BF was impressed by my one-legged downward dog, so he took a photo. My outfit is by Fabletics (*referral link).

The BF and I then went to my parent's house for dinner. My brother, sister-in-law and niece were also there. They made lasagna, garlic bread and salad. It was delicious!

We also had super yummy mini cupcakes from Hy-Vee. I had the peanut butter cup, obviously.

Since it was such an indulgent weekend, I have to get back on track today. I don't love having to get back on track every Monday, but that's how it's been the last few weeks. My goal for next weekend is to make healthier food choices!

How do you stay healthy on the weekends?
