Thanksgiving Recap + Black Friday Bootcamp

I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!

On Wednesday night, I dragged the BF over to my parent's house to look through Black Friday ads.

He was happy in the end because my mom made us a pumpkin pie. I made the homemade whipped cream. Seriously, never buy storebought whipped cream again (it's full of junk anyway!). This will change your life - 2 cups whipping cream, 4 tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract. Whip in a mixer until stiff peaks form. Feel like a domestic diva.

My Thanksgiving day started with a gratitude meditation and a yoga class. My gym offered fitness classes Thanksgiving morning!

It really helped me take some time to think about what I'm thankful for. This year has been full of so many exciting changes! I'm especially grateful for all of you! Thank you so much for reading my blog, interacting with me on social media and supporting me! It means so much to me.

After yoga, the BF and I ran 5K. It was 22 degrees with a wind chill of 8 degrees! But I got to wear my new running hat, so I was happy about that. We usually do the YMCA's Turkey Trot, but we decided at the last minute not to do it. We aren't in the greatest running shape right now, so we decided to skip the five mile run and do our own shorter run.

When we got home, I made us a recovery smoothie with almond milk, Hemp Pro chocolate protein powder and powdered peanut butter, and the BF popped open a bottle of champagne and made mimosas.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the BF's grandma's house. Lots of his family was there, so it was great to spend time with everyone.

I enjoyed some of my favorite holiday dishes - macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, broccoli and rice casserole and a new dish this year - raw Brussels sprouts salad. I had a piece of apple caramel pie for dessert.

That evening, the BF watched football and I shopped some Black Friday sales online. I bought 1000 thread count sheets for $59.99 and a black pencil skirt from LOFT (50% off). Two things that I actually needed.

It was a great day! I hope your Thanksgiving was full of gratitude and delicious food also!

Today is Black Friday! Whether you're shopping unti you drop or spending the day at home, make some time for a workout!

Although I felt like I made some healthy choices on Thanksgiving, I definitely indulged a bit more than usual. I like to get right back on track the day after eating more than usual. And working up a sweat is my favorite way to get right back to healthy.

I created this Black Friday Bootcamp to help you burn off some of those extra Thanksgiving calories. This workout is intense! This is a ladder workout, so you start with six reps of the first two exercises, then do five reps of each, then four, then three, then two, then one. Next, you move on to the next set of exercises.

You will definitely be feeling this one!

What are you doing on Black Friday?
