Happy Saturday! I hope you had a lovely week, and you are enjoying your weekend so far!

I challenged you to practice self-care every day for the past week as part of Self-Love February. How did you do? I admit, I was off and on. For example, Wednesday was non-stop until about 9 p.m. when I was finishing eating dinner. I crashed in front of the TV for about an hour and was off to bed. I could have used some breaks during the day to reenergize myself.

But for the most part, I took some time for myself every day. Last night, after a particularly moody day, I poured myself a glass of wine and rolled out my yoga mat. It was the perfect ending to not so hot day, and I was instantly in a better mood.

This coming week's challenge is a good one! I challenge you to meditate every day for one week!

If you've never meditated before, don't worry. You don't have to sit in a quiet room for an hour. Your meditation practice can be just three to five minutes if you want.

I love meditation because it helps me find some calmness among hectic days, it helps me become more centered and it helps me find clarity when making decisions.

I even taught my niece how to meditate! More schools are implementing meditation into the school day to help kids learn better and to reduce behavior issues. Bonus for getting your kids to join you : )

What is meditation? Meditation is the practice of deep concentration, which can lead to calmness, positivity, clarity and more.

How do you meditate? Simply find a quiet place and get into a comfortable seated postition. You can be cross legged on the floor (on a pillow if it's more comfortable), or on your couch or even in bed. I sometimes meditate at work, so I simply sit in my office chair with my feet planted on the ground. Close your eyes and begin taking deep inhales and exhales.

What if I your mind won't stop racing? When I first began meditating, I used guided meditations. I love BexLife videos, but you can find tons of meditation videos on YouTube. I prefer BexLife meditations because most of them are less than 10 minutes, and she even has a series of four minute meditations. She even has meditations for specific things like anxiety, sleep, body confidence, etc.

Why should you meditate? Meditation can reduce stress, improves concentration, increases self-awareness and it increases acceptance. There's also studies that say meditation slows the aging process! (Source)
