What's New and Good

I've been a terrible blogger this week!

I usually prepare a bunch of blogs for the week over the weekend. But last weekend was crazy busy, so I didn't get anything done. Which is why my blogs have been a bit sporadic this week (I don't always have the time or energy to blog on weeknights). But I thought I would check in with you just so you know I'm still alive.

I'm going to be honest, I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed and exhausted. So I need to take a moment to think about the things in my life that are fun and awesome.

Here are some things that are new and good right now...

Free Thursday Nights! - I'm no longer teaching my Thursday evening water aerobics class (because I needed some half-marathon training time). It feels really good to have a weeknight off. I was getting really burned out from teaching five fitness classes a week, half-marathon training and trying to do my own workouts. I'm also using my time off to focus on my health coaching!

Yellowstone Planning! - I've booked most of our lodging for our trip, which will take place in June. I bought the vintage map print above for the BF for his birthday to get us excited for our trip. The BF's sister and her fam live in Washington and they are meeting us there (it's about the same distance for them as it is for us from Nebraska). I'll share more details about the trip when it gets closer, but we already signed up for the Yellowstone Half-Marathon!! So we'll stay in West Yellowstone, MT before the race, then we'll stay in a cabin in the Grand Tetons and then we're camping in Yellowstone. I can't wait! Vacation planning makes me so happy. If you've been to Yellowstone, please share tips!

I bought a spiralizer! - I had some Amazon gift cards, so I used one to purchase this spiralizer. I can't wait to make noodles out of zucchini, carrots, sweet potatoes, beets and whatever else I can make noodles out of. Once I get the hang of it, I'll share some of my creations!

I got my essential oils! - Remember when I had that essential oils get together? Well, I ended up buying a starter kit of Young Living essential oils to experiment with. I also ordered this Quick Reference Guide for Using Essential Oils. I haven't used my home diffuser yet because I need to do a little research on what essential oils are safe for dogs. But last night, I mixed a drop of thieves with coconut oil and used it as a night cream. My skin has been breaking out lately, so I thought the combo might help. Thieves contains clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus and rosemary. You have to use a carrier oil when you apply it topically because it can be too warming. Coconut oil is antibacterial and moisturizing, so it's good for my normal/combination skin. To be totally honest, I woke up this morning and my skin looked amazing! My skin looked clear, smooth and radiant. Magic. Here are 50 Ways to Use Thieves Essential Oil. I'll share more once I use more oils!

I had my first good half-marathon training run! - Yep, I'm in my sixth week of training and I had my first really good run. I did a 3-miler on the treadmill Tuesday and it actually felt easy. I also ran it in just over 30 minutes, which is my quickest run so far during training. I swear I was happy, even though I look like death in the photo above! Training has been HARD this year! I've been running really slow, and regardless of the distance (3 or 8 miles), my runs have been challenging. I'm thinking that I've been struggling because I've been doing so many other workouts on top of running. Luckily, my training program has me going back in miles and just running a 5K this weekend! I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

I have zero plans this weekend! - Besides my 5K half-marathon training run, I have zip on my schedule. I've already started making a to do list so that I feel more caught up on life. I'll be working on my health coaching website, blogging and doing some marketing for my health coaching! I also plan to make some time for relaxation because that is much needed!
