How is the weekend over alread? I need another day!

My weekend was incredibly low key, but I managed to not get everything done that I intended to do. I was actually pretty tired all weekend. I slept a lot and did my fair share of lounging around. I guess I just needed to give myself a little break.

Here's how the weekend went...

Friday, May 15

After work, I went for a run. I really didn't have a mileage in mind. It was just a nice day and I felt like running. I ended up running just two miles and walking for about half a mile. I'm listening to my body (as I mentioned I would do in my Week of Workouts post).

The BF and I went to Qdoba for dinner. We were in desperate need of groceries, so we opted to grab something out. I had my usual naked burrito with brown rice, vegetables, black beans and guacamole. They aren't stingy with the guac!

The BF then drove to Hastings to hang with a cousin who was in town from Colorado. I did absolutely nothing! I watched a movie and lounged on the couch. I needed it!

Saturday, May 16

We woke up to heavy winds and rain. Around 8:30 a.m., the BF and I decided to put off our long half-marathon training run until Sunday because of the weather. So I quickly ate a bowl of plain Greek yogurt sweetened with honey and topped with raspberries and drank some Iced Bhakti Chai, and got ready to go to yoga class.

I haven't been to Saturday morning yoga class since before we started half-marathon training! It felt so so good. We did an amazing flow from lizard to side plank to the above back bend variation. It felt really good on my tight hips.

When I got home, I had second breakfast - oats with chia seeds, blueberries, honey and almond butter.

The BF and I made a trip to HyVee for groceries. We needed to stock up on healthy foods for our 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge, which starts today! You can still join if you'd like!

We also stopped at Target, which was a mistake because we didn't get home until 2:30 p.m. and we were both hangry. The BF popped a HyVee pizza into the oven and we both inhaled it.

I also had trail mix with peanuts, cashews, dried mangoes, dried pineapple, banana chips and coconut flakes.

In the evening, we went to my brother's surprise 30th birthday party! Tons of his friends came to celebrate. My sister-in-law, Sarah, had a taco bar for everyone. I skipped out on the beef tacos and just had chips and guac.

My brother was truly surprised and really happy that so many people came to celebrate him. The BF and I went to the party with my parent's and niece, so we left pretty early with them. It was fine with me because my brother and Sarah's friends party harder than we do.

At home, I had some leftover whole wheat pasta with pesto and mozzarella.

We ended the night by watching Grace and Frankie. Have you watched that show on Netflix? It's so good!

Sunday, May 17

The BF and I slept in until 9 a.m.!! That's probably the latest I've slept in years!! I had some Ezekiel bread toasted and topped with Trader Joe's crunchy peanut butter with chia and flax, banana slices, honey and my own chia, flax, hemp seed mix.

We walked to my parent's house to help my dad get the pool ready for the summer. We had to take the cover off, but it was full of rain/melted snow water. It was quite the process. We also had to hook up the filtration system. Brynn wandered around finding lady bugs and blowing up her water floaties (even though she won't be able to swim for a few weeks since the water is 64 degrees).

For lunch, I made breakfast burritos with red and green peppers, red onions, mushrooms, scrambled eggs and a bit of cheese for lunch. I've been hooked on these lately. I think I had one for lunch three days this week!

I figured out how to watch the current season of the Real Housewives of New York on Hulu on my laptop, so I watched an episode. I also did some blogging for this week. I have a good post coming up this week on meal prepping!

Because I meal prepped for the week.

The BF and I realized we weren't going to get in our long run for the weekend. We were both tired and it was getting too late in the day. We decided to be productive and buy the produce for our garden.

As soon as we started digging in the dirt, it started raining. So we put planting on hold.

For dinner, the BF grilled chicken, pork chops and veggies. And I'll be real...I ate some mini Reece's Peanut Butter Cups and Hershey Kisses since I'll be sugar free for the next 30 days!

We ended the night by watching an episode of Empire, another show the BF and I recently got in to. It's really good!

What was the best part of your weekend?
