It's pumpkin spice everything season!!

I am not ashamed to say that I am totally into the pumpkin spice trend. I love pumpkin!

However, it can be easy to get sucked into all the pumpkin spice marketing out there and buy all kinds of unhealthy snacks and treats. Check out my post, How to Survive the Pumpkin Spice Craze, to find out how to choose the heatlhiest pumpkin spiced products.

I love creating my own pumpkin spice recipes at home. They're so much healthier! I'm sure you've heard of a little thing called the PSL. Well, this is a cold, frothy, protein-packed version of the PSL.

I did not want this to end. It is perfectly pumpkiny and coffee-flavored!

This frappé is naturally sweetened - no artificial sweeteners or tons of sugar like coffee shop versions of this drink. It also has a scoop of protein powder, so this is perfect for after morning workouts. You get your recovery protein and your A.M. coffee buzz!

Protein Pumpkin Spice Frappé

1 cup cold strong coffee

1 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup pure pumpkin puree

3 tbsp. pure maple syrup

1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder {the best vegan protein powder}

Brew a pot of strong coffee and refrigerate overnight.

In a blender, combine the coconut milk, pumpkin, 2 tbsp. maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Pour pumpkin mixture into an ice cube tray and allow to freeze completely. (you should have 12 pumpkin ice cubes)

Add 1 cup coffee, 6 pumpkin ice cubes, your favorite protein powder and 1 tbsp. maple syrup to your blender. Blend on high until smooth. Add a few tablespoons of coconut or almond milk, if frappe is too thick.

Garnish with pumpkin pie spice.
