My Goals for 2016 {Peacefulness and Joy}

2015 was an amazing year full of exciting changes, taking risks, going on adventures, facing challenges, having success, failing, beautiful lessons and having fun.

{Here's a look back at 2015}

I started a business! What?!?! I never imagined that I would become an entrepreneur. I'm still in the beginning stages of creating my business and, to be honest, I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing. My fears and insecurities about starting a business, and my increasingly busy schedule, had me feeling overwhelmingly stressed by the end of the year.

Luckily, I had two weeks off from my full-time job during the holidays (I work for a university). I decided to take some of that time off from blogging and working on my health coaching business as well. It was during this time of rejuvination that made me realize that I wanted to create something different in the new year.

"Stay close to anything that makes you glad you are alive."

Over the past year, I found myself getting so focused on getting things done on my to do list that I wasn't experiencing much joy. I finally decided that I would rather experience overwhelming joy than overwhelming stress.

Peacefulness and Joy. That is what I want to create in 2016. In my work, in my relationships, in my workouts, in my meals, in my decisions and in my personal life.

A new year is truly a new beginning. It's a chance to allow yourself to change and grow. It's our chance to make things different. We can let go of the things that no longer serve us, and open our hearts to new beginnings.

Not serving me in 2015...having too high expectations for myself, over scheduling myself and beating myself up for not being able to do everything and do everything perfectly.

My new mantra for 2016 - "I am doing all that I can in this moment."

In addition to approaching the new year with a new attitude, I have some specific personal goals for the new year! (I also have a lot of professional goals, but I won't bore you with those).

My Goals for 2016...

Yoga, yoga, yoga. I started off 2015 strong with yoga challenges and a consistent practice, but as I got busier I let my practice become inconsistent. Yoga makes me feel strong, balanced and at peace. I'm starting off the year with a 31 day challenge with Sweat Pink. I'm committing to do yoga every day in January!

Start adulting with my finances. I admit, I'm not great with money. I've become a lot more responsible in the last few years, and I've paid off some debt and started saving. But I'm not even close to where I thought I would be at this point in my life. 2016 is going to be all about shopping less and saving more!

Commit to radical self-care. A huge part of my health coaching program is helping my clients learn how to care for themselves. Yet, I find myself putting my own needs on hold in order to get things done. In the coming year, I will care of myself so that I can serve in all areas of my life fully.
