I've been so focused on sharing tips on setting goals, creating my own goals for the new year and sharing books to get you inspired in the new year that I forget to share details about my New Year's Eve!!

It was such a fun and low key night.

Here's a quick recap...

The BF had to work until 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve. I didn't want to spend the whole afternoon and evening alone so my niece came over. I recently organized all of my craft supplies in a storage container, so she dug through the box and completed a project.

We then used the tea kettle the BF got me for Christmas and made tea. Brynn only speaks in a British accent when she drinks tea.

We stopped at Walgreens so I could pick up a prescription, and I let Brynn pick out some New Year's party props. She got a headband and some noise makers. We also stopped at HyVee so I could pick up some treats for later that night. I let Brynn pick out some sparkling juice so that she could cheers the New Year.

Brynn and I put on sparkly make up and headbands.

Then we walked to my parent's house down the street for dinner and game night. My mom made baked chicken, roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes.

We also had some game night snacks - chips and guacamole, chocolate graham crackers, petite fours and Melissa's Cranberry Clean Snax.

Brynn drank Izze Blueberry Sparkling Juice out of a champagne flute.

We played Pictionary and SkipBo.

Around 9 p.m., I went home to get ready for the BF to get off work. I made a cheese and cracker plate, poured champagne, plated some petite fours, lit some candles and turned on the Netflix fire place.

I also got dressed up. I had bought a New Year's Eve dress in the fall, and I was bummed I wouldn't get to wear it out. I put it on anyway!

When the BF arrived home, he was surprised and happy that I created a special night for us. I wore my dress for maybe an hour, then I put my pajamas on. We watched the ball drop in Times Square on television, counted down until midnight, kissed and went to bed.

I was so grateful that I got to spend the day with people that I love. Happy New Year!
