Happy Monday!

I had an indulgent weekend celebrating the BF's birthday. We had a party with friends, a date night and brunch with my family. All the eating out has me feeling a pretty bloated and heavy today.

So today is all about moving on and getting back on track. When I have an indulgent weekend, I don't spend time feeling guilty about my food choices. I actually enjoyed every single indulgent bite, and was happy to be celebrating my guy.

To get back on track, I'll feed my body with nourishing foods and drinks all day. I started my morning with an apple cider vinegar drink and oats, chia seeds, blueberries, almond milk, cinnamon and almond butter. I'll sip on some green juice later in the morning, and drink lots of water throughout the day.

Friday, Jan. 29

I had been struggling with my hormonal headaches/migraines all week, and I left work early Friday because I felt horrible. I had a bit of a meltdown. After four days of head pain, I was physically and emotionally exhausted. I was really worried I would be in pain that night during the BF's birthday party.

So I laid on the couch with an ice pack on my head, took some pain reliever, and hoped my severe headache would go away in time for the party.

Miraculously, by the time everyone arrived I felt fine. We had pizza from Flippin Sweet.

Then we went to the Big Apple Fun Center for laser tag!

I had never played laser tag before, so I didn't know what to expect.

It was super fun and really exhausting.

The BF enjoyed the night.

After laser tag, we went back to our house and ate birthday cake!

Saturday, Jan. 30

I had some green juice before heading to yoga class at the Wellness Center at CHI Good Samaritan. It was a fast-paced flow class that had me dripping in sweat. It felt really good! I came home and snapped a pic of a Warrior III among the birthday mess (note the whiskey still on the bar).

When I got home, I made an omelet with onion, green pepper, spinach, mushrooms and goat cheese.

I also drank my usual cup of coffee. It ended up being an incredibly relaxing day. I binged on Friends on Netflix (I started the series from the beginning back in December, and I just finished season 9!!!), I read magazines, I wrote thank you cards, I browsed Instagram and I ate leftover birthday cake.

I also meal planned for the upcoming week. The BF will be working most nights, so I'm eating mostly easy, vegetarian meals. I leftover pizza for lunch.

That evening, the BF and I had a little date night to celebrate his birthday. We went to the Plainsman in Juniata, NE. It's basically everything you would think a rural Nebraska restaurant would be like. The BF likes it because they have really good prime rib. I don't eat beef, so there's not a lot for me to eat. I had the salad bar (which has mostly Nebraska salads - potato salad, cole slaw, pea salad, macaroni salad, etc.), a baked potato and grilled chicken. The chicken was extremely dry and had a funky taste, so I ate my romaine lettuce, carrots, cottage cheese, baked potato and a roll. Luckily, the BF thoroughly enjoyed his prime rib.

Sunday, Jan. 31

I had a sliced banana topped with natural peanut butter and chia seeds, and my Vega Clean Energy Pre-Workout drink mix.

I gave the BF his birthday gifts - Replacements records, a gift card to Buffalo Records and a record cleaning kit.

Then I went out for a four mile run. I just started my half-marathon training. I'll write a separate post about some mental hurdles I'm trying to get over with running.

After my run, we met my parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece for brunch. My niece picked out balloons for the BF.

I had an omelet with spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, onions and cheese, breakfast potatoes, breakfast sausage, a crab cake and a cinnamon roll. I ended up not eating the waffle because it got cold.

We also enjoyed mimosas!

We picked up groceries, then headed home for some birthday relaxing. I drank coffee and watched more Friends while the BF took a nap.

Then I got busy meal prepping for the week. I made green juice, apple cider vinegar drinks, roasted cut sweet potatoes, a whole roasted sweet potato, roasted chickpeas, chia pudding and chickpea almond butter energy balls.

At 8 p.m., the BF and I decided we were just starting to get hungry. Our brunch was huge! So we grabbed Qdoba. I had my usual - naked burrito with brown rice, black beans, vegetables, pico de gallo and guacamole. We also shared some chips and guac.

It was such a wonderful weekend celebrating the BF's birthday! I can't believe we've been together for five and a half years or that we've lived together for a year and a half! We've had so many amazing adventures together.

How do you get back on track after an indulgent weekend?
