Yoga Teacher Training - Weekend 4

Happy Tuesday! I'm late posting my weekend recap because I had an exhausting (but wonderful) weekend in yoga teacher training and then I was in Omaha all day Monday for a visit with my functional medicine doctor. 

Today I'm getting caught up on emails, scheduling health coaching sessions, blogging, doing laundry and preparing for the college class I'll be teaching (which starts next week!)…oh yeah, and working at my full-time job. My life is crazy and amazing. 

Friday, Aug. 12

I packed snacks as always. Chia pudding, energy balls (to share), greens drink, bananas and a green smoothie for the drive to Avani in Hastings. 

Smoothie: cashew milk, kale, mango, banana, vanilla plant protein powder, marine collagen. 

We always start yoga teacher training weekend with Happy Hour Yoga. Kim taught a wonderful heart chakra class. 

We learned about restorative yoga and took a restorative yoga class. 

Saturday, Aug. 13

I stayed in Hastings overnight because training got over at 10 p.m. Friday and I had to be back at the studio by 7:30 a.m. for a class. I had chia pudding and a banana for breakfast.

I was feeling my new sports bra from Target. It's the C9 Champion Strappy Cami Sports Bra ($14.99).

After the sunrise yoga class, I grabbed an iced coffee at the Art Bar. They have good coffee!

Then Liz taught a chakra workshop. It was probably one of my favorite yoga classes ever. She went through each chakra starting with the root chakra, and we did yoga poses that connected with each chakra. 

We spent a lot of the day learning about chakras, which was really interesting. 

I had lunch at the Back Alley Bakery. They didn't have any vegetarian options on their menu, so I ordered a blueberry goat cheese salad with chicken. This was the first time I ate meat since June! I wasn't feeling it. But the salad was delicious. 

We spent the rest of the day working on sequencing classes, practice teaching and more.

I got home around 7 p.m., and enjoyed a glass of wine. 

And pizza! The BF and I went to Flippin Sweet. It was so so delicious. I ordered the Little Green Bag as always. 

Sunday, Aug. 14

I had to be at the yoga studio by 8 a.m., so it was an early morning. The day started with a yin chakra workshop taught by Jenny. 

We spent the rest of the morning learning about yin yoga. 

I had lunch at Odyssey. They also didn't have any vegetarian options on their menu (besides a hummus appetizer). So I ordered a turkey sandwich with avocado and garlic aioli. I also got the parmesan truffle chips. Everyone has been raving about this restaurant since it opened, but I thought my food was just mediocre. I wouldn't order that sandwich again, and the chips weren't special. I couldn't taste truffle at all. I'll go back and try something else because everyone has had great reviews and the atmosphere is really cool. 

The rest of the day was spent learning about using essential oils in yoga and learning about savasana. We ended the day with a restorative yoga class.

The BF and I had dinner with my parents. My dad grilled. I had a veggie burger. I wasn't into the meat I had over the weekend, so it was vegetarian for me. 

Yoga teacher training was amazing once again. We only have three more months left!
