Weekend Recap {Oct. 21-23, 2016}

The weekend flew by and it was packed full of unexpected adventure! 

I really didn't have any plans for the weekend, but adventures presented themselves and I went with it. I'm actually feeling a bit tired this week from such a full weekend, so I'm attempting to take it easy…luckily I had a massage scheduled for Monday evening.

Friday, Oct. 21

My dad called me in the afternoon and asked if I wanted to go flying with him. He recently started taking private flights in tiny airplanes to take aerial photographs (my dad is a hobby photographer). I said yes, then instantly regretted it and started having anxiety about the flight.

Then I pulled an Own Your Awesome affirmation card and it was about releasing fear. I took it as a sign that I needed to go on the flight to let some stuff go. 


My niece ended up joining us. 


Her excitement and lack of fear was a good reminder to just let go and enjoy. Our pilot, Justin, was very chill, which also made it easier. 


It was really beautiful. 


We flew over the city and then over the Platte River. Check my Instagram for a video of us flying low over the river. 



And we got to watch the sunset from the sky.

After our flight, we had dinner at El Limon, a new Mexican restaurant. I had vegetable fajitas, which were delicious and flavorful. 

The little one ended up staying the night. We stayed up past 11 p.m. working on her Darby Girl crafts. Two birthdays ago, I bought her a subscription to Darby Girl, a craft subscription box for tweens. She's obsessed. We made rings and keychain pom poms for her backpack. 

Saturday, Oct. 22


Coffee.


Yoga. (I've been doing videos from oneOeight lately. 


Green smoothie: cashew milk, kale, banana, cashews, vanilla plant protein powder


I dropped the girl off before I headed to KTown Shakedown, a local fitness studio, to teach my Eating for Energy workshop. It was an awesome workshop with a great group of women!


Lunch was leftover Mexican topped with a Trader Joe's cowboy quinoa burger.

The BF and I went back to the Meadowlark North Park trail for a hike. We went there a couple weekends ago.


Stop. Drop. Yoga.


I rehydrated with sparkling water and minerals and antioxidants. Then I spent a few hours working on our office/my yoga space. I've been working on this room since last Christmas, and it's almost done!

The BF smoked a bunch of meat in his smoker all day, so dinner was smoked chicken and potato salad. After dinner, we went to Gillie's bar to see Simon Joyner perform. It was a great show. 

Sunday, Oct. 23


Morning meal planning after having scrambled eggs and a bagel for breakfast.  


I'm obsessed with my new mug from TJ Maxx.


The whole fam went to the Country Harvest Pumpkin Patch near Glenvil, Nebraska. I love going to the pumpkin patch!


Face cut outs.


Corn maze.


Tiny horses.


Pumpkin picking. 


My niece and I also spent a lot of time on this giant bounce pillow thing. I was exhausted by the time we left the pumpkin patch.

The BF and I had dinner at the Market Grille. I had salmon with rice and vegetables, and a glass of wine. We ended the weekend by watching the Revenant, which was super intense but really good. 

I'm exhausted, but it's nice to be tired from such a fun-filled weekend.
