Peppermint Mocha {with protein}

It has been so cold lately that all I want to do is cuddle up under a blanket and drink something warm. 

I don't normally go for sweet coffee drinks, but I was craving something warm and sweet one cold afternoon and this peppermint mocha happened.

Most coffee shop versions are high in calories, and are full of sugar and syrups made with artificial ingredients. But my recipe is full of good-for-you nutrition and doesn't contain any sugar. 


This drink turned out super rich and chocolately because I used my favorite chocolate plant protein powder. It's made with organic raw cocao and cocoa, and sweetened with stevia and monk fruit extract. It's also non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and doesn't contain any artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.

Peppermint {Protein} Mocha

1 cup strong coffee

3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tsp. pure maple syrup

1 scoop chocolate plant protein powder

1 drop therapeutic grade peppermint essential oil or peppermint extract

Stir together all ingredients in a saucepan over low/medium heat. Bring to a low simmer, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Pour into mug.
