Weekend Recap {May 19-21, 2017}

We basically had two seasons of weather over the weekend. Cold, dreary and rainy Friday and Saturday, and totally summer-like on Sunday. 

We took advantage and stayed in to relax all day Saturday then got outside and enjoyed the sun on Sunday. It was really a great weekend.

Friday, May 19

The fiancé and I drove to Hastings to attend his step-mom's retirement party. We stayed for a couple of hours, then headed over to our friends Meggan and Kevin's house to hang out with our Hastings friends. 

We had a really fun night, and I didn't snap a single photo : (

Saturday, May 20

We got home late, and I had to get up early to sub three fitness classes. I ate protein oatmeal with berries and sliced almonds before I headed to the gym. I taught a cardio class, a core class and a water aerobics class. 

When I got home, I worked on my new Body Love workbook that I made for you and did some planning for some upcoming yoga classes. I was drinking kombucha, antioxidants, coffee and lemon water. Getting all my drinks in!

Then I had second breakfast! Turmeric eggs and Ezekiel toast. 

It was a cold, dreary and rainy day, so we planned on staying in all day. I made a yoga rollerball and a sore muscle balm with my essential oils. 

Ate air popped popcorn and watched Netflix.

Drank wine. 

Then we went out for Indian food. We shared a cauliflower appetizer and naan, and I had a chickpea tomato dish. 

Even though it was cold, we had a nice relaxing day.

Sunday, May 21

I got up and wrote in my gratitude journal, read and did my morning meditation.

Then the fiancé made pour over coffee and we made breakfast together. This is our favorite weekend tradition. 

The sun was out and it was beautiful, so the fiancé mowed while I pulled weeds from the vegetable garden. 

We grabbed lunch at the HyVee salad bar (because we had free coupons ; ), then we helped my mom move a few things to their new house. I had a kombucha when we got home.

Then we went to Fort Kearny so the fiancé could play disc golf and I could just walk around and enjoy the weather.

He ended up throwing his disc in the lake, so I volunteered to walk out on unstable log and get it. 

I ended up only getting one foot wet in the late. It was a success because I fully expected to fall in. 

We picked up groceries then had dinner with my family at Old Chicago to celebrate my brother's birthday. I had the Mediterranean Farmer pizza! Yep, indulged in a little cheese. It was glorious! (I don't typically eat dairy because I have a sensitivity to it). 

It was such an easy going weekend. I love weekends like this!
