Adding zucchini to sweet muffins is a delicious and easy way to get in your veggies!

Our garden is bursting with one giant zucchini after the other right now. I'll check the garden one day and leave a zucchini to grow a bit more, and the next day it's a monster.

I've been trying to add zucchini to more of our meals, and I've made vegan zucchini meatballs, grilled zucchini, zucchini noodles and more!

I needed a break from savory zucchini dishes, so I made these muffins.

A Weekend in Yosemite National Park

Posted August 18, 2017 in Yosemite National Park, adventure travel, active travel and 5 more

While it would be easy to spend more time in Yosemite National Park, you can see a lot in just two days! I spent a weekend in Yosemite National Park, and I'm sharing all the adventures from my trip.

In June, the fiancé and I met my cousin, Kristi, and her husband, Avery, in San Francisco, and the four of us drove to Yosemite National Park for a weekend of adventure.

You can read about our time in San Francisco here.

Kristi and Avery had been planning on going to Yosemite for Avery's 30th birthday. They had most of the trip planned when I mentioned that Yosemite was on our bucket list, and they invited us to come along. We bought our plane tickets four weeks before we left!

It ended up being such an amazing trip, and we were so grateful for Kristi and Avery for doing so much planning and coordinating.

I took so many photos on this trip because Yosemite is absolutely breathtaking. So this post is photo heavy!

Colorado Wedding Planning Trip

The fiancé and I just returned from a gorgeous weekend in Colorado looking at wedding venues!

Yep, we're planning a destination wedding in the mountains. This was our first big wedding planning trip to Colorado, and it was so much fun.

We stayed in Longmont because we planned a couple of venue tours in Lyons, which is nearby and doesn't have many hotel options. At the last minute, I booked a tour at a venue in Estes Park, so we also took a trip there.

I'm not going to share details about the venues we toured right now. Maybe in the future, after we choose a venue, I'll write a post about all the venues we've looked at. But I want the fiancé and I to make a decision without a lot of outside influence.

That said, if you have any great wedding venue suggestions in Colorado, please share! We're looking for a venue that isn't too high up in the mountains (since most of our guests will be coming from flat lands), has options for an outdoor ceremony and/or reception with gorgeous views, has on site or nearby lodging, has that rustic Colorado charm (but isn't cowboy), and is affordable.

In addition to venue tours, we ate delicious food and sampled lots of craft beer during our trip. So read on to find out what we ate and other adventures we had during our trip!

Friday Faves {Cycles}

There's nothing in nature that blooms all year long, so don't expect yourself to do so either.

Theres-nothing-in-nature-that-blooms-all

It's been forever since I shared some of my recent favorite things. I love doing these posts because I love sharing the random wellness things that are helping me live my healthiest and happiest life.

Today's favorite things all have to do with cycles. This is something I've been obsessed with lately. I first started thinking about cycles when I began following Kate Northrup. She teaches the cycles to sustainable success, which I'm still learning about and trying to implement into my life and business.

Basically, our society tells us to keep moving full steam ahead, but we should really be working in cycles - allowing time for rest and regeneration before producing more.

I love this idea because I've experienced burn out, overwhelm, stress and exhaustion from constantly creating and producing.

So I'm sharing some of my favorite things that are helping me track cycles and live a more cyclical life rather than a linear one...

I'm getting a little crazy with my green smoothie making! I added a special ingredient to this smoothie that helps with digestion.

Probiotics! While this may not be a common smoothie ingredient, it's definitely one that should be used more often!

Weekend Recap {Aug. 4-6, 2017}

Posted August 8, 2017 in Weekend Recap, meditation, yoga and 4 more

Smoothies, yoga, rosé, delicious food, friends and family. I would say my weekend was pretty great.

The fiancé and I didn't have many plans, which was good because the rest of the month is booked up. I used our free weekend to do some cleaning and purging, and it felt so good.

We also made a quick trip to Hastings to celebrate a friend's birthday, and we ate such great food.

Here's a recap...
