I haven't shared a day of eats for quite some time! 

Right now, I'm trying to eat energizing foods to keep me going because I'm teaching 7 fitness classes a week now! But I'm also trying to lose a few pounds because the BF and I gained a couple of pounds after we moved in together

This is a pretty typical day of eating for me. No two days are ever exactly alike, but these are some of the foods I eat consistently. I actually eat oatmeal 75% of the time, but I was short on time so I made a quick breakfast instead.

Ever wonder what a health coach eats in a day?

I typically share my weekend eats with you as part of my Weekend Recap series that I post on Mondays. In those posts, you get a glimpse of how I balance healthy eating with weekend indulgences, and how I make healthier choices when eating out. 

But my weekday meals look a bit different. There aren't typically cocktails or meals out during the week. 

Please keep in mind that I'm not sharing this to suggest that you eat like me. We are all different - one person's food is another person's poison. I recommend that you eat what makes you feel your best. This just happens to be what made me feel good on this particular day.

What I Eat in a Day {Jan. 24, 2017}

Ever wonder what a health coach eats throughout the day? Today I'm sharing every single thing that I ate yesterday!

Tuesdays are my longest days, so it's important that I eat for optimal energy. I teach fitness classes at 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and work my 8 to 5 in between, so it's a long day that requires plenty of energy.

I'm usually pretty tired by the time I get home, which is why I try to keep dinner simple - leftovers or something easy to throw together. 

I'm currently not eating dairy, and I usually only eat meat a couple times a week. Tuesday just happened to be a dairy-free, meat-free day (not vegan because I ate eggs). 

I don't count calories or track my food. I simply focus on eating whole foods that will make me feel my best.

What's a typical day of eats look like for a health coach? I'm giving you a special look at all of my real life meals!

One of the questions I get asked the most is what I eat on a day-to-day basis or what diet I prescribe to. 

If you've been hanging out here at Sweet Success for awhile, then you probably know that I don't diet. I don't follow a diet and I don't think diets work for the long term. 

I eat based on what I feel my body needs in the moment. How exactly does that work? 

When I'm in the kitchen eyeing the tortilla chips and guacamole (happens frequently), I take a moment to think about how that will serve me, why I'm craving it, and whether I actually need something more nourishing. Sometimes I go for the chips and guac, and other times I make something that will make me feel more satisfied.

It took me awhile to learn how to eat intuitively, and I'm not perfect. But I like the freedom of eating without counting calories or macronutrients, and it allows me to pay attention to what my body needs from day to day.
