Be a better you with quick at-home workouts

This may be a surprise, but I don't particularly like going to the gym. As a fitness instructor, I enjoy going to fitness classes. But working out in the gym is just so so boring.

Fitness classes don't always fit into my schedule, so I love getting in workouts at home. It's just a more convenient way to workout. Lately, I've been using Grokker. It's a website that features thousands of yoga, fitness, meditation and cooking videos.

The great thing about Grokker is it features tons of videos that are about 20 minutes long. You can do quick, but challenging workouts when you only have a short amount of time to workout. This has been perfect for me because my schedule can be kind of crazy. Between working full-time, teaching fitness classes, working with health coaching clients and blogging, I don't have tons of time to workout.

Fitness Made Fun!

Over the past couple of weeks, I've joined Sweat Pink in some fun Instagram challenges to promote their challenge to achieve #1MillionMinutes of movement this summer.

The challenge began on June 21, and I've been tracking my minutes of activity since then. I've also been participating in daily Instagram challenges with Sweat Pink. (Look for #1MillionMinutes in my posts.) Each week, Sweat Pink teams up with a healthy company on their Instagram challenge posts. They've teamed up with Puritan's Pride, Lorna Jane, and now Grokker.

This week's challenge is all about making fitness fun with Grokker.

I'm excited the challenge is with Grokker this week because I already use Grokker to workout at home! Last month, I posted a review of Grokker for FitFluential. I've been doing their yoga videos at home because there aren't many yoga classes that fit into my schedule.

This workout is simple, but will have your legs shaking by last the round!

It's been so long since I created a new workout for you! Mostly because I haven't been teaching that many fitness classes lately, and I usually find inspiration for workouts when I'm teaching a lot of toning classes or boot camp style classes.

I cut back on teaching in February when I started training for the Lincoln Half-Marathon. I've only been teaching two classes a week since then - cycling and water aerobics. 

But I've been subbing toning classes lately and I'm getting ready to start my outdoor boot camp again, so I'm feeling inspired to create and share workouts!

Core HIIT Workout

I started teaching HIIT workouts about a year and a half ago, and I've been obsessed ever since. HIIT is the perfect way to get your heart rate up, strengthen your muscles and burn a ton of calories.

I recently started teaching a core class once a week, and I typically incorporate Pilates and yoga movements and traditional abdominal exercises. But I wanted to take it up a notch and make the workout more intense.

So this core HIIT workout was born! Give it a try and let me know what you think!
