Yoga Inspired Toning + Cardio Workout

Posted May 16, 2014 in yoga, cardio, workout and 5 more

I've been doing the FitFluential Namaste in May Challenge - doing yoga every day this month - and I've also been doing Beach Yoga Girl's May I Handstand Challenge on Instagram. So yoga has been on my mind lately!

I even got into a crow pose for at least 3-4 seconds the other day! This has been one of my yoga goals for awhile. I really think the handstand practice helped me get here!

All my recent yoga practice inspired me to create this yoga inspired workout for a class that I subbed last weekend. The class at my gym is called Chizzel and it's meant to incorporate toning with bursts of cardio.

High Intensity Bleacher Workout {no equipment needed}

Posted June 3, 2014 in workout, summer, fitness and 6 more

About a month ago, my friend Russanne suggested that we start getting together on Sunday mornings during the summer to do workouts at the high school track.

I was thrilled about the idea because I don't usually do intense workouts on the weekends (unless I'm half-marathon training), and I tend to find myself glued to the sofa being lazy on Sundays. 10-minute At Home End of Summer HIIT Workout

Posted September 12, 2014 in workout, HIIT, fitness and 6 more

I've been working out at home a lot more lately.

It started when I was teaching five fitness classes a week, and didn't have a ton of time for other workouts. But I realized that I liked the simplicity of getting in a workout in my living room.

Sweating at home means I don't have to drive to the gym, I don't have to put on all my running gear or sunscreen and I can workout whenever I want!

I created this super quick HIIT workout to get my heart pumping and strengthen muscles (this will work your core, legs and arms!).

Quick Calorie Torching Tabata Ladder Workout

Posted September 16, 2015 in workout, tabata, Sweat Pink and 7 more

Since July, I've been leading early morning HIIT bootcamp workouts at my local outdoor fitness pad. My small but dedicated group meets at 6 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

I've been so proud of my early morning crew especially in the last few weeks. Although the weather has cooled down and mornings are beautiful (mid-60's), it's now dark the entire time we workout. (The photos above were from mid-summer when we got to watch the sun rise.) It seemed a bit easier to get up to workout when the reward was seeing a sunrise like that!
