Last year, I set a goal to read 12 books...one book a month. I'm usually a novel reader, but I made a point to read a few books that would help me learn and grow.

I ended up falling in love with personal development books! I felt so inspired while reading them, and they forced me to look within myself more.

My Goals for 2016 {Peacefulness and Joy}

Posted January 1, 2016 in new year, goals, new year resolutions and 5 more

2015 was an amazing year full of exciting changes, taking risks, going on adventures, facing challenges, having success, failing, beautiful lessons and having fun.

{Here's a look back at 2015}

I started a business! What?!?! I never imagined that I would become an entrepreneur. I'm still in the beginning stages of creating my business and, to be honest, I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing. My fears and insecurities about starting a business, and my increasingly busy schedule, had me feeling overwhelmingly stressed by the end of the year.

Luckily, I had two weeks off from my full-time job during the holidays (I work for a university). I decided to take some of that time off from blogging and working on my health coaching business as well. It was during this time of rejuvination that made me realize that I wanted to create something different in the new year.

While I do make time to exercise and make it a priority to eat mostly healthy meals during the holidays, I definitely indulge more than usual.

I ate more sweets than I typically do, I indulged in a comical amount of cheese and I drank wine almost daily during my nearly two weeks off from work.

So, like you, I'm feeling the need to get back on track now that the holidays are over.

My Word for 2017 - Intention

Posted January 5, 2017 in new year goals, intentions, creating an intentional life and 8 more

Word-for-2017-Intention.png#asset:7310:m

I've always loved setting goals in the New Year. It just seems like the perfect time for new beginnings and an ideal time to check in with yourself to see if your actions are aligned with your vision for your future.

I usually take some time at the end of the year to review the past year and write some goals for the new year. But this year, I found myself coming back to this process over and over again.

I journaled my accomplishments in 2016, my favorite memories, my worries for the coming year, release statements, what I want to manifest in 2017, how I want to feel and more.

I realized that I was spending so much time creating a clear vision for the year because I felt like I was treading water during 2016. I overcommitted and over-scheduled myself, and found myself doing things without a clear idea of what I wanted to get out of the experience.

I spent so much time focused on being productive and getting through my to do list, but I never manifested what I desired and I ended up feeling stressed and burned out by the end of the year.
