I'm beginning an exciting new journey! Yoga teacher training!

The first set of classes are this weekend. I'll be in training Friday evening, all day Saturday and most of Sunday. Classes are one weekend a month through November.

I'm feeling incredibly grateful for this opportunity. Going through yoga teacher training has been something I've thought about over the years, but it the timing was never right.

When I learned that Avani in Hastings was offering a teacher training, I knew I had to jump at this opportunity. This feels like the right time. It feels like it's exactly what I need right now.

I'm absolutely exhausted today after three days of yoga teacher training, but I'm also feeling inspired and uplifted by all the positive energy of the weekend.

As always, yoga teacher training forces me to get out of my comfort zone and learn more about myself. This weekend, we practiced Kundalini yoga, which is a school of yoga that focuses on meditation, pranayama (breathing), chanting mantras and yoga asana (poses).

It was my first time practicing kundalini yoga!

Here's a recap of the weekend...

Happy Tuesday! I'm late posting my weekend recap because I had an exhausting (but wonderful) weekend in yoga teacher training and then I was in Omaha all day Monday for a visit with my functional medicine doctor.

Today I'm getting caught up on emails, scheduling health coaching sessions, blogging, doing laundry and preparing for the college class I'll be teaching (which starts next week!)…oh yeah, and working at my full-time job. My life is crazy and amazing.

Yoga-Teacher-Training-Weekend-5-Sunrise-

I woke up this morning and thought it was Saturday….it's Monday. I have a feeling it's going to be a long week.

I'm totally exhausted after being in yoga teacher training over the weekend. I plan to take it easy the next couple of days - keeping my workouts light and not scheduling too many health coaching consultations or client sessions.

Here's a recap of my yoga weekend….

I can't believe that I'm almost finished with yoga teacher training! I only have one weekend left!

This weekend was incredibly physical and intense. Last week was a very emotional week, so I wasn't super excited about being immersed in yoga all weekend. But teacher training ended up being a good distraction.

All the positive energy through yoga practice, meditation and from everyone in my class was what I needed.

I finished my last weekend of yoga teacher training!

Going through the 200-hour yoga teacher certification program may have been one of the best decisions I've ever made. The experience was so much more than I ever expected.

I went through yoga teacher training through Avani Yoga Studio in Hastings with Evolve to Harmony Yoga in Omaha. My teachers, Carole Westerman, Suzanne Wright and Elizabeth Israel, were absolutely amazing. I feel really lucky to have learned from them and the other teachers at Avani.
